What happens during a hypnosis session?

If you are new to the idea of hypnosis, you may be curious about what happens during a treatment session.

Firstly, you don’t need any special equipment for your session – simply a quiet, comfortable place where you can relax without any disturbance. It is important that you are able to ‘switch off’ from what is going on around you, which is why my clients sometimes prefer to meet with me in a private space away from distractions. I am able to offer private therapy sessions online, so you can experience the treatment in your own home too.

Before any treatment is booked, I like to talk to my clients about the problems they wish to address. It may be a feeling or emotion, ‘unfinished business’ from a past experience that keeps cropping up in their daily lives. An example could be addressing low confidence or self esteem, or an irrational fear that is Another common theme is wanting to change or stop a habit – this could be giving up smoking, adopting a healthier diet, or stopping an unhealthy pattern of behaviour. This sets a goal to work towards, which will be the basis of the hypnosis sessions.

What happens during a hypnotherapy session?

During the treatment itself, clients report a feeling of calm and clarity. Its a relaxing experience, one which offers you the space to think clearly about your condition. My role as a guide to help you identify where the problem lies, and support the steps you need to take.

The sessions can vary in duration, but typically take about an hour. Sometimes a course of treatments will be advised. Following the sessions, many clients experience rapid progression towards their set goals.

If you feel that you are stuck in a rut with thought patterns or behaviour that are getting in your way, why not get in touch to talk some more about what’s troubling you. I am happy to address any concerns you may have, or can simply give you a little more information about the therapies I offer.
