Mind Therapies with Sally - Sally Thomas, Change Therapist

How often do you have an idea, something that will lead to a better you?

It could be a time-saving exercise, or something that will make you feel better instantly. I know I have been tempted by many advertisements, listing the benefits that convince me I can’t live without it. So I have a go, and then don’t quite get the results. Maybe I am using it wrong, lacking experience or need to have some guidance to help me get the most out of it. Let me tell you about a recent experience of ‘do it yourself’ and why for me, it didn’t work out the way I’d planned…

I spent all day trying to figure out how to do something clever online. This new feature promised to save me time, which is always a precious commodity. I didn’t anticipate having to wrestle with it for several hours for it to do that! As it turns out, someone I know knew how to do this, and had successfully implemented this time saving tool many times before. After a quick chat to find out what I needed, they took just under an hour – and boom! Everything I had tried to do during the day was done and working perfectly. Struggling on my own took me round and round in circles; working with an expert took minutes. (and I’m happy to say, I am indeed now saving the time I wanted to!)

Two heads are better than one

I suppose what I am trying to say is – sometimes it’s the case that these DIY cures don’t deliver. It’s not their fault as such, in the right hands they do exactly what they are supposed to. There are other things where you benefit from an expert, a guide or mentor – two heads are better than one. It’s a little like the online therapies I offer – often I am working with individuals who have taken the self-help route with mixed results. They may work for some, but havent for them. But working with someone with experience, they finally get it – they have learned something new, and indeed enjoy the benefits of the claim.

If you are struggling with breaking a habit, you may have read countless books on the subject but still your habit holds on. You may lack confidence, and tips and tricks that worked for others don’t seem to be effective for you. Maybe you have lost your motivation or direction that you once had, and affirmations and pep-talks are falling flat. My suggestion? Try working with a therapist who specialises in making sustainable changes.

Meaningful actions + sustainable changes = Improved results!

My work as a change therapist helps my clients to identify where changes need to be made to lead them to future success. My techniques work with their core values, so they’re not fulfilling my wishes – they’re working towards their dreams. With renewed faith in their abilities, they see and experience progress. The most noticeable change is – they are more resilient, confident and assured.

Get in touch if you would like to know more – I’d be happy to share more about my approach, and offer private consultations where we can discuss the hurdles you wish to overcome.
